“There are a lot of people out there who wouldn’t have the confidence or perhaps the means to enter a big competition like Britain’s Got Talent. So this might be a lot less daunting for some people as they can record the song in the privacy of their own home,” Boyle says. “I’m hoping that people who have always wanted to sing will give it a try. I wish you all good luck”.

Boyle was sent a 4-million-pound birthday present by Simon Cowell, her first royalties cheque of her debut album, ‘I Dreamed a Dream’. Simon Cowell’s company, Syco, released Susan’s record-breaking album, which became the fastest selling album in British history, with more than 3.1 million copies being sold in the first month. Boyle was the runner-up of the show. The Scottish singer who wowed the entire world, rose to fame on the TV’s Britain’s Got Talent show, when she sang the soul stirring ‘I Dreamed a Dream’.

Gone is the appearance of a dowdy dressed, frizzy haired unknown, from West Lothian, in Scotland. Boyle has climbed from strength to strength. In January 2010 Boyle raise money for women who were victims of the Haiti earthquake, when she sang on a Danish relief show, ‘The Denmark Collection’, at the Tivoli Concert Hall, in Copenhagen.

Boyle has made numerous guest appearances around the world, since her debut on Britain’s Got Talent, including singing at the Sanremo song festival, Italy and with the Yamiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo, Japan. Boyle celebrated her 49th birthday with her fans, While in Japan, where she hosted a lavish celebration. Boyle suddenly cancelled her Australian tour, where she was to sing at the Logies, claiming she had to get rested in order to cut her second album.

Boyle is currently taking legal action against her two brothers, for breach of privacy, following an interview. Brothers John 59 and Gerry, 55, supposedly told a magazine about her career. The brothers told the mag that the family is increasingly being ‘frozen out’ of the church volunteer’s life. They also commented on her cancelled Australian tour and reportedly weird behavior. The interview is reported as having deeply offended the feelings of the singer.

Boyle is said to be fed up with the constant invasion into her personal life. She was admitted to hospital, suffering from stress after Britain’s Got Talent. Following a recent show in New York, she broke into tears and angrily hit out at the reports of the show.

Stevie Starr, akaThe Regurgitator was also a popular act this year and although he didn’t make it into the final, the Glaswegian’s stomach churning performance did win him a legion of fans, fascinated by his ability to regurgitate large objects. Now Stevie has come under fire after he angered families at a children’s gala day in Kelty Fife.

Starr was paid £1000 to perform at the popular event but his swallowing of goldfish wasn’t the only thing churning audience members stomachs. According to The Sun, Stevie launched into a series of X rated jokes about sex acts during his performance.

One parent who was at the gala with his two year old daughter and four year old son told the paper: “I was there with my two young children and had to walk away after several minutes due to his disgusting language and jokes. “He even had a young boy of about nine from the audience helping him when he was telling the jokes.”

Starr’s manager Mike Malley defended his act and accused parents of over-reacting. He told The Sun: “Some people complain for the sake of complaining. I would imagine he said words like s*** and bloody because he does when he’s swallowing goldfish. But you’ll never hear him say the F Word.”

The organisers of the gala have not yet commented on the matter.

The prospect has been described as “tragic” by Simple Minds singer Jim Kerr, while politicians said the bank could have done more to save Terminal’s 15 jobs. RBS insisted it had acted “fairly and reasonably” during talks over the deal.

Record producer Stuart McCredie used the loan to set up the studio in 2005, when former First Minister Jack McConnell officially opened its doors. Since then, artists including Kelly Clarkson, Belle and Sebastian, The Fratellis and Deacon Blue have laid down tracks with the West Regent Street studio.

Mr McCredie said his offer to pay back 90 per-cent of the loan with the rest secured against his property had been rejected by the bank.

Bail out

His initial attempts to refinance the loan and move his business to another bank in 2009 fell through. He said: “I have acted responsibly and professionally, offering a viable refinance that banking experts have told me is more than acceptable. I am at a loss to understand their obstructive behaviour, especially at a time when RBS is actually meant to be supporting small businesses. This angers me as I cannot forget the huge role RBS played in creating the current financial crisis. It was bailed out by us, the taxpayer, and I wish it afforded small businesses the same support we gave it.”

Simple Minds frontmant Jim Kerr said saving the studio was “vital” in keeping Scotland on the music world’s map. He said: “Glasgow is known worldwide as a great music city. For this to continue, it is vital that we have top of the range studio facilities. McCredie has created a perfect studio and a fine team of engineers, and it would be tragic for me and many others not to be able to work in Glasgow because of a lack of music facilities.”

Disappointing

The studio’s local MP Ann McKechin criticised RBS for its role in the studio’s plight. The Labour member for Glasgow North said: “It claims to be the most helpful bank, but being truly helpful would mean ensuring that people were kept in jobs and businesses were kept afloat with a more constructive attitude to resolving debts.

“This is a very difficult financial climate, and McCredie has not shown any shortage of effort in trying to resolve the problem. It is very disappointing that the bank is prepared to pull the plug and allow a number of people in one of Scotland’s key creative industries to lose their jobs.”

A spokesperson for RBS said: “We know this is a tough time for many businesses. We are prevented from going into detail in this case, but we believe that the bank has acted fairly and reasonably and provided the required financial support over a number of years.”

She also went on to Italy where she performed at the San Remo Festival. It seems that her collapse was put down to being too hot whilst waiting for her flight in British Airways Club Lounge.

An eyewitness told the paper, “It was very dramatic. Susan’s legs just gave way under her and she went down.”

And Susan’s spokesman is quoted as saying, “Susan did faint at Heathrow as she overheated in the lounge because it was so warm.

“However, she is fine now and gave a fantastic performance at the festival.”

It seems that BA has a problem with Susan because last month, media reports suggested that she’d been “asked to calm down” after reportedly causing a disturbance while at Terminal 5.

I’m inspiring a lot of people… people have written to me about how much I have inspired them, and I like to keep on doing that for as long as it lasts.”

Piers Morgan has slammed Elaine Paige for her recent comments about Susan Boyle. During an interview with the Daily Mail, Paige was reported to have compared Boyle’s sudden rise to fame to that of a virus. However, the former Cats star later complained she had been misquoted.

“Elaine Paige has come out with some extraordinarily bitchy remarks about Susan Boyle, saying she’s a ‘virus’ that she ‘doesn’t feel any pride for’,” Morgan wrote in his weekly Daily Mail column. “I, of course, presented the TV special at Christmas in which Susan sang a duet with Ms Paige, and got twice the ovation that Susan’s idol received. This, coupled with the fact that Susan has sold ten million albums and become a global superstar in a way Ms Paige never came close to achieving, may explain her pathetically jealous and mean-spirited hissy fit.”

Susan believes her late mother is watching over her. The ‘Wild Horses‘ singer – who became a worldwide sensation when she performed ‘Les Miserables‘ song ‘I Dreamed A Dream‘ on UK TV show ‘Britain’s Got Talent‘ – feels she owes her phenomenal success to her beloved mother Bridget as she always encouraged and supported her. The 48-year-old star said: “She’s right here in this room. She would have been really proud. I do feel there is a lingering presence – and that person is my mother.”

Susan – whose debut album ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ was a smash hit on both sides of the Atlantic – admits she was “let loose” on the world when she auditioned for the show last year and can’t believe how much her life has changed.

“She’s right here in this room. She would have been really proud”.

Appearing on Oprah Winfrey’s US TV talk show, Susan – who is from the Scottish town Blackburn, in West Lothian – added: “That’s when I was let loose.

“Before the audition my life was kind of mundane routine like everyone else’s. After the audition, people started recognising me in the street and I was being seen as a professional singer.

After her explosive debut on “Britain’s Got Talent” last April, she said she would not use Botox. The Times of London reported; Boyle conceded that she might consider a makeover later on.

For now, I’m happy the way I am, short and plump. I would not go in for Botox or anything like that.’

Nine months later, her debut album has hit the top of the charts and she has had that makeover. She also may have reconsidered her earlier opposition to Botox.

In an interview with the Italian magazine Grazia, she reportedly said..

‘I have a new hairdresser and I have discovered Botox, as well as getting my teeth whitened. I’ve lost weight for my own self esteem. It’s all been very important’.
