Deadline London reports that an anonymous source is claiming that Susan Boyle’s famous audition, singing ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ from Simon’s Cowell’s Britain’s Got Talent was digitally tweaked. SuBo’s famous audition for Britain’s Got Talent was digitally tweaked, according to a show insider. The Evening Standard quotes an anonymous source saying that the show’s production team; which is the same as The X Factor; smoothed out the Scottish singer’s voice in post-production.

X Factor co-producers, Talkback Thames ‘is refusing to confirm or deny whether Britain’s Got Talent’s most famous contestant, Susan Boyle, had her audition helped by Auto-Tune.’

Wow, that audition again put SuBo on the map.

Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle was dragged into the X Factor Auto-Tune row today when it was revealed that the Scottish singer’s first appearance was digitally tweaked.

The X Factor this week admitted using technology to smooth out faults in contestants’ singing during the audition stages. Today the Standard learned that the same techniques are used on Simon Cowell’s other reality show, Britain’s Got Talent.

A show insider said: “The exact same techniques are used on Britain’s Got Talent as on The X Factor — it’s the same production team. The sounds are cleaned up — it’s an open secret and an industry standard.

“This goes for everyone — even Susan Boyle’s audition was smoothed out in post-production to give it the best possible sound.”

Boyle’s audition was seen by more than 120 million people on YouTube and helped make her a global star. A spokeswoman for Talkback Thames, producer of both shows, said: “In line with standard television practice, sound filtering technology has been used on Britain’s Got Talent on our pre-recorded shows, but this does not unfairly reflect any singer’s performance.

“The performance shown on screen is a fair reflection of performance given in the live theatre. Judges make their decision based on that live performance.”

The 49 year old singer has already been measured for her wax statue. The tabloids gave her the nickname ‘hairy angel’ for her dull appearance. The very first album of Susan titled ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ earned her a fortune of USD 15 million. The work on her wax model has already started and will be displayed later this year at the London tourist hotspot.

According to a source close to Boyle, “Susan is very excited about this. It’s unbelievable to her. Even in her wildest dreams, the singer had never thought to get a place at Madame Tussauds”.

Susan’s wax model will replicate her off-duty look with casual clothes, untidy hair, and little make up. The popularity of the singer among American tourists have made the wax museum to go for her statue. Entering the industry in 2009, Susan has sold more than ten million albums. She has reportedly started working on a Christmas album for the coming holiday season.

The wax figure of Susan will reportedly cost around $200,000 to give it the full-fledged shape.

According to the News Of The World Susan, who found fame on 2009 Britain’s Got Talent season, has been secretly measured up for the waxwork, which will go on display at the London tourist attraction later this year. She will be one of eight new waxwork figures due to debut at the attraction, each costing around £150,000.

“She’s very excited about this,” a source told the paper. “Susan would never in her wildest dreams have ever imagined she’d one day be a waxwork at Madame Tussauds. It’s unbelievable.”

The model is expected to feature Susan’s original look – complete with dowdy clothes and unkempt hair – rather than the smarter look she adopted after becoming famous. And Susan will be hoping that the figure proves popular, so as to avoid being melted down in the future – as has happened to other celebrity waxworks. Former X Factor winner Shayne Ward is among those whose waxwork has been removed and destroyed, while veteran presenter Terry Wogan had his waxwork melted down to make models of Ant and Dec.

“Figures are often melted down and re-made into someone new,” said a museum source. But Susan Boyle is hugely popular – especially among Americans. It’s a big coup to get her.”

But this did not stop the middle-aged sensation as she reportedly purchased her dream house.

The X factor winner’s dream home is actually the house she had been living in for forty years. But even after she rose to fame in 2008, the crooner opted to rent the property instead of buying it for herself. Boyle told CNN this morning that she’s overwhelmed by her sudden notoriety. “I’m gobsmacked, absolutely gobsmacked,” she said. The word “gobsmacked” is British slang to mean astonished or astounded. But Boyle herself also said she wouldn’t want the instant fame to change her.

“I wouldn’t want to change myself too much because that would really make things a bit false,” she said Friday in an interview with CNN.

“I want to receive people as the real me, a real person.” Boyle, 47, burst into the spotlight last week when she performed the song “I Dreamed a Dream” on the reality show “Britain’s Got Talent.”

At least two members of the show’s judging panel have said they judged Boyle on her looks when she first appeared on stage before them. Based on the somewhat disheveled state of her baggy dress and wild hair they admitted they didn’t expect much.

“It’s a very shallow thing to say but, obviously, the minute she walked onstage we all, and the audience, completely judged her on her appearance and everything else. And I hate saying that. But, you know, that true cliche, we judged a book by its cover,” said judge Amanda Holden in an interview Friday on the CBS …

The former journalist scoffs at notions that Boyle would have been better off without the fame, and he gives his take on why being insanely popular is not such a bad thing for the “I Dreamed A Dream” singer.

“I just want to do it so I can meet him and just like kiss him on the face and give him a big old hug or something!”

Susan’s brother Gerry Boyle tells the Daily Mail: “When Susan realized she can’t just walk into a bank and take out her own money, she had a fit because she thought she was down to her last few quid. She was extremely distressed. She lives in fear of losing everything and returning to her old life before she made it big.”

Although she’s sold more than 8.5 million copies of her debut album “I Dreamed A Dream,” all her earnings are controlled and invested by her management team.

Gerry, 55, reveals, “Susan said to me, ‘I’ve been told I get £500 a week because I’m a novice. I don’t have the money to go and buy the furniture’. She should be able to walk into a bank anywhere and say she wants £50,000 cash. That may not be advisable, but it would be Her choice because it’s Her money.”

“Susan doesn’t look as if she’s a successful international chart star,” Gerry adds. “She should be riding high, developing her career, traveling the world. She shouldn’t be worried about money when she has millions in the bank.”

Gerry thinks Susan also needs reassurance from her record company SyCo boss Simon Cowell, that her record deal is still safe. Cowell, by the way, has admitted that his initial snooty reaction to Susan made him hate himself. Simon Cowell’s company SyCo responded to the Daily Mail: “Finances are handled between artists and their management. We do not comment on such matters.”
 
Sounds like she’s become a British Britney Spears, with her life and finances tightly controlled by people (including some of her family) who don’t think she’s savvy or strong enough to handle things.
