The Juno Awards are Canada’s version of the Grammys. Yesterday the nominations were announced for the Juno Awards to be presented April 18, 2010 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Michael Buble led the pack with six nominations. But for us, the great news is finally our beloved SuBo also received some recognition as well with a nomination for International Album of the Year for her collection I Dreamed a Dream. Stephen Colbert paid tribute to SuBo at Grammy
There was more evidence of America’s fixation with SuBo at Grammy’ as Susan was credited by Grammys host Stephen Colbert with “saving” the recording industry. Comedian Colbert, while addressing the assembled stars during the Los Angeles ceremony, said:
“Congratulations to all of you, but what I want to know is — Why isn’t Susan Boyle here? I mean, she accomplished something huge this year. You all may have brought the sexy back, but she sent it away again! No thanks Sexy, we’re just going with good singing this year.”
