Susan’s brother Gerry Boyle tells the Daily Mail: “When Susan realized she can’t just walk into a bank and take out her own money, she had a fit because she thought she was down to her last few quid. She was extremely distressed. She lives in fear of losing everything and returning to her old life before she made it big.”

Although she’s sold more than 8.5 million copies of her debut album “I Dreamed A Dream,” all her earnings are controlled and invested by her management team.

Gerry, 55, reveals, “Susan said to me, ‘I’ve been told I get £500 a week because I’m a novice. I don’t have the money to go and buy the furniture’. She should be able to walk into a bank anywhere and say she wants £50,000 cash. That may not be advisable, but it would be Her choice because it’s Her money.”

“Susan doesn’t look as if she’s a successful international chart star,” Gerry adds. “She should be riding high, developing her career, traveling the world. She shouldn’t be worried about money when she has millions in the bank.”

Gerry thinks Susan also needs reassurance from her record company SyCo boss Simon Cowell, that her record deal is still safe. Cowell, by the way, has admitted that his initial snooty reaction to Susan made him hate himself. Simon Cowell’s company SyCo responded to the Daily Mail: “Finances are handled between artists and their management. We do not comment on such matters.”
 
Sounds like she’s become a British Britney Spears, with her life and finances tightly controlled by people (including some of her family) who don’t think she’s savvy or strong enough to handle things.  The singing sensation sold over 8.5 million copies of her debut LP I Dreamed A Dream and is believed to have earned close to $20 million in royalties after finding fame on Britain’s Got Talent in the Spring of 2009. Nonetheless, Boyle is “distressed” after being banned by her management team — which includes Susan’s lawyer niece Kirsty Foy — from withdrawing her own money from the bank or owning a credit card, says Susan’s concerned older brother Gerry Boyle. In fact, Susan’s financial situation is so bad, she can’t even move into her new home in an upscale section of Blackburn, West Lothian, because she can’t afford to buy furniture.

“Susan said to me, ‘I’ve been told I get $600 a week because I’m a novice. I don’t have the money to go and buy the furniture.’ The should be able to walk into a bank anywhere and say she wants $100,000 cash. That may not be advisable, but it would be her choice because it’s her money,” Gerry told Britain’s News of the World this weekend. Susan’s family is now appealing Susan’s mentor Simon Cowell and executives at her SyCo recording label to come to the aid of the shy singing star:

“Susan’s under the impression that her management can take her career away. Obviously that’s not the case. But I’ve asked for someone Susan trusts at SyCo – even Simon himself – to simply confirm she will not lose her contract. She should be riding high, developing her career, travelling the world. She shouldn’t be worried about money when she has millions in the bank.”

Boyle is not allowed to withdraw extra cash from the bank and she cannot even buy furniture for her new home. SuBo even cannot use a credit card; she is forced to shop for dresses at Tesco and travel by bus.

Although, Boyle has bought a 300,000-pound, five-bedroom house, she was not able to move in as she didn’t have the cash to furnish it.

The Boyle management sources said that her allowance is just 300 pounds a week but she could have more at any time if she wanted. They also said that they are trying to help Boyle furnish her new house and, quizzed on security.

Susan’s brothers Gerry, 55, and John Boyle, 59, apparently told a mag about her career, which saw her attain stardom in less than a year, reports the Daily Express. But the interview is said to have deeply hurt the I Dreamed A Dream singer, 49.

John and Gerry told the mag that the family is increasingly being “frozen out” of the church volunteer’s life. The brothers also commented over the sudden cancellation of Susan””s concert in Australia and reports of her supposedly bizarre behaviour. Susan is also said to be fed up of constant intrusions into her private life.

Boyle’s sibling Gerry made the comments after telling New magazine that he is cut off from his younger sister while her two nieces take control of her career. He said: “She would be immensely proud. But also immensely concerned. Susan’s the youngest and we promised our mother that she would always be looked after. Unfortunately, here we are cut off from her.”

Neither Susan nor her family have commented on reports that the Britain’s Got Talent star is planning to take legal action against her brothers for intrusion into her private life. Gerry added: “She said we shouldn’t be talking to the press, but I feel it’s our duty to say we’re not happy, because if something goes wrong, we’ll be slated for not looking after her.”

The singer finally decided to move out of her childhood home after being confronted by an intruder in January. Meanwhile, it has been claimed that the 49-year-old star is suing brothers John, 59, and Gerry, 55, for breach of privacy after they said they were worried about her wellbeing in an interview with a US magazine.

“Basically, two of Susan’s nieces who had no time for her before Britain’s Got Talent are now controlling her career. She’s living her dream. The downside is that she has to be careful who she’s involved with. She has good days and bad days. She’s under intense pressure now. I don’t think Susan [realizes] just how famous she is.”

SuBo has faced immense pressure since her time on TV last year, and he famously checked into a treatment facility following her stint on the show to deal with “exhaustion.” We have already heard some rumblings about conflict between Susan and the nieces — including a rumored “confrontation” about a flight to Japan for Boyle’s birthday celebration. However, nothing is confirmed and it seems to be more or less business as usual.
