Susan Boyle’s ‘desperately keen to be loved’

Susan Boyle delighted fans yesterday, when she was more than happy to open up her front door and pose for pictures with some male schoolboys. The lads, from St Kentigern’s High, gave Su-Bo the thumbs up as she smiled and waved at the camera, looking relaxed and happy to be back in her Blackburn home.

Susan’s siblings are not so happy about the star’s openness with the public and her brother Gerry has warned, the family will vet any potential suitor looking to steal Susan’s first kiss. Speaking to the Daily Record he said: “Anyone coming into a circle from a romantic angle would have to go through the wringer.”

Susan Boyle still uses the bus

She may be a millionaire, but Scottish singer Susan Boyle still uses the bus. A trendier looking SuBo waited for the bus, before getting her purse out of her red handbag and boarding.

An onlooker told the News Of The World: “It was a bizarre sight. She could have a driver in a posh limo at her beck and call but she gets the bus. It shows she’s still one of us at heart.” This singer celebrates her one year anniversary of being a celebrity after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent for the first time this time last year.

I’ve gone from being a cygnet to a swan | Susan Boyle

SuBo was cruelly dubbed the Hairy Angel – but singing sensation Susan Boyle has now boasted: “I brush up quite well, like a cygnet to a swan.”

And the Scots star rubbished claims that she’s had cosmetic surgery to improve her looks, adding that she now sees herself as “a sophisticated lady”. Speaking about her showbiz makeover, she said: “Even though the outwardness has changed, inside I’m still the same but a bit more refined in some ways.”

Susan shot to fame after her astonishing debut appearance on TV show Britain’s Got Talent. The clip became a YouTube hit and made her an overnight sensation on both sides of the Atlantic. Her debut album I Dreamed A Dream rocketed to the top of the charts both here and in the US.

Susan Boyle predicted to have Christmas number one

This year’s number one Christmas album will be Susan Boyle’s second record according to music industry insiders after Amazon received over two million advance requests for the new album. The online retailer set up a special page where fans could register their interest in Boyle’s follow-up to her debut album I Dreamed A Dream.

The feverish rush that followed has prompted industry insiders to speculate that Boyle will nab this year’s Christmas number one spot, despite the fact she is yet to start work on the new project. ‘We haven’t seen this before. It’s seven months ahead of the release and already people are putting in requests for pre-sales. It’s an incredible achievement already,’ The Mirror reports an industry insider as saying.

‘I’m hoping to make it better and a bit extra special,’ Boyle has said of her second album.

Susan Boyle Help UK Music Industry’s Sales Rise

Profits for the British music business have grown for the first time in six years, though the figures have only been welcomed as a “modest result.”

Figures from trade body the British Phonographic Industry show record labels enjoyed growth from £916m ($1,404m) to £929m ($1.423m) last year, the first time money income from digital sales, including subscriptions and ad revenue from ventures such as Spotify, has outweighed declining CD sales.

Income from downloads of singles and albums grew by 53 per cent to £154m ($236m), while sales of physical formats dropped six per cent to £740m ($1.134m). Not that 2009 was a particularly halcyon year in terms of taste.
