Susan Boyle has often been scoffed at by most of her school mates who labelled her an ‘April Fool’ coz her birthday falls on the 1st of April. However, the Scottish sensation, by the sheer merit of her vocal talent, has crossed all hurdles to become the reigning nightingale of the music industry.
Susan’s brother Gerry says, “Susan was teased from a child because of her birth date and told she would never amount to much in her life. She can still remember the taunts as if they were yesterday. But she rang me last week and was so happy. She said, ‘Gerry, if people look at me now they’ll realise I’m no idiot, no fool. I can buy whatever I want.’ I felt so happy for her.
British singing sensation Susan Boyle is poised to expand her already sizable fortune with the upcoming release of a new album.
The Daily Mirror reported Sunday that Boyle will receive a 10-million pound advance from her agency for releasing her second album, which will hit shelves around Christmas. (more…)
Those of us on this side of the Pond may not recognize as “classical” all of the artists who have made “Classical Relief for Haiti,” but the sincerity behind their efforts is beyond question.
Among the UK performers are cellist Julian Lloyd Webber, tenor Paul Potts (a reality-show sensation before Susan Boyle), the Priests (often featured in PBS pledge-time programming) and percussionist Evelyn Glennie, not to mention the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
This “We Are The World”-type fundraiser to benefit Haitian relief efforts is a performance of “The Prayer,” a pop ballad recorded orginally by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion. Although the Web info on obtaining a copy of the recording says the CD version is for delivery to UK addresses only, I imagine that the downloadable version would be obtainable by anyone.
A stand off between family relatives of Susan Boyle has led to a blazing row about who is minding her finances.
In the middle of it is U2 manager Paul McGuinness who has warned the family about Ossie Kilkenny, the Irish financial advisor to Boyle, in an extraordinary letter.
Gerry Boyle, Susan’s brother, has been suspicious of how Kilkenny is handling Susan’s wealth says The Daily Mail. Kilkenny was brought on board by Kirsty Foy, Susan’s niece, an entertainment lawyer, who has handled Susan from soon after she became famous.
Gerry however, and his siblings have fallen out with his niece over Kilkenny. Gerry Boyle wrote to U2 manager Paul McGuinness a former associate of Kilkenny for his opinion on him after a businessman he met had warned him about Kilkenny.
Sections of this large property could be described as having ‘A Room with a Su’.
These are the first pictures of a swish new pad set to be purchased by angel Susan Boyle. The Britain’s Got Talent runner up has splashed out £300,000 on a five-bedroom house in her home town of Blackburn, West Lothian. The 1,700 square foot home has three bathrooms, a double garage and solar panels. Locals are convinced that the Wild Horses singer is about to move to the new house, which is set in a private courtyard.
It’s a far cry from her modest £80,000 one-bedroom council house in Blackburn, Lothian, which is still besieged by armies of adoring fans. The 48-year-old has also suffered security problems with her current home.
